January 23, 2016 | Escape | Friends | Home Town

January is a month of beginnings and new, fresh starts. I love that about it. It's also unpredictable weather where in Alabama it can be in the 60's most of the time and every once in awhile we get snow. I planned to go to Nashville for the weekend because my birthday is next week. Birthdays are fun. It started snowing in Nashville last night and it snowed All. Day. Long. So, I'm sitting in my bed with my cute escape bag full of my sewing for the weekend.

I'm watching Woodlawn. This movie is incredible. Absolutely incredible. Watching it, I realized why I'm at home tonight. I needed to see this. You need to see this. It's a beautiful, Jesus centered movie.

"If you only love those that love you back, what kind of love is that?"

I had a great day with two incredible women. Layla Palmer and Jenny Walker   They live in Pike Road and we met at Peyton's Place for lunch and shopping at Amy's Antiques after. It's so inspiring and fulfilling to be around women who stand for each other and you can feel their kindness. We all found treasures. We discovered that Layla loves a certain color of green and can spot it a mile away! Jenny just built an amazing house and they talked about it the whole time which made me NEED to see it! Lunching again soon, ladies! This picture makes me laugh out loud. The flag attacking Layla and it was so cold I was holding onto Jenny's coat for dear life!

I found this amazing picture of the graduating Chaplain class of Harvard 1943. It's not in great shape, but it was $10. I can make it work! Layla just knew there was a specific name for pictures like this.....long, skinny and panoramic-ish. She asked on Instagram and her dedicated followers came through! A yard long portrait! I'm now on the hunt for more.

I want to introduce you to a couple I was introduced to just over a year ago. This is Erin and Ben Napier. They are from Laurel, Mississippi, a small town they love and believe in. They are getting their debut on HGTV this Sunday. I want you to watch. I want you to see what I saw, a genuine love for what they do. It's not for tv or you and me, it's for their family and their community. They are creative spirits and it shines out of them. What you need to know is that your tv needs to be tuned in and turned on. Only live viewers are counted for ratings. Watching it recorded doesn't count. You're going to have to go to early church, people! Leave your tv on while your gone and get home ASAP! I'm telling you, you don't want to miss it! How cute are they?!? Adorable. Home Town on HGTV.

December 4, 2015 | How to Hang a Piano

That's a little deceiving. I don't know how to hang a piano on the wall. Good lord, can you imagine doing that? I'm sure it's done somewhere and it's fabulous! But, not at moon glow lake.

I was on the local radio station this morning, WDJC, with Roxanne and Chris. Gah, we laughed! Roxanne and I tend to go overboard when it comes to decorating for Christmas and Chris, well, Chris just didn't understand. We tried to talk about how to make decorating your house simple. Chris seems to think matching ornaments and wrapping paper are not important. But, just think, if you have a color theme, it's easy!! Just buy all matching things and you're done! No decorating style needed!! I did want to come home and find something to show you how easy it is to add a little merry to your home in the easiest way. I grabbed a piece of a branch from my Christmas tree and popped a ribbon on top and added it to this piano hanging on my wall. See? Easy!!

So, this is how I hung this one. i actually found it at Ashlee's house last year. She told John Connor she would pay him to carry it to the dump. We carried it to the dump, alright! It went straight to Hansel and Gretel and hung on the wall there, until we moved here and it was the first thing I hung on these walls!

It's super heavy!! Make sure you have extra long nails and you have to find studs!! The frame has holes in it, so it was easy to know where to put the nails. Btw, this one is only hung with nails on one side. It's important to nail all the way down, so that it doesn't move. If it moves, it will tear your wall down!!

Connor and I ran up to Nashville for a Christmas party tonight. I loved getting to see Nancy, Meryll and Dana and meeting some of their friends! Such a fun group. We are going to go to Leiper's Fork tomorrow. I can't wait to show Connor how cute that little town is!!

November 29, 2015 | Sundays and Day Dreams

I do love Sundays. This was a lazy one, too! The weather here in the south is ridiculously warm! It was in the 70's today. That is unusually warm! I went out in the woods after breakfast and we moved a ladder stand, chopped down some brush and checked all the cameras on the properties. It's fun to watch them do their thing. I did just that…I watched. This tree was in the middle of one of the green fields and it was so majestic standing there. It was begging to have it's picture made! There were handmade ladder rungs half way up and it made me wonder if there had once been a tree house up there. It would be a beautiful spot for a house, but it was pretty deep in those woods with little muddy trails leading to the field.

I moved the buggy around once, but for the most part, I day dreamed all morning about what my goals are for 2016. I love to plan and I love to dream. I have been trying to think of my one little word. It's something I like to use at the beginning of the year to determine what goals I want for my family and myself and now, this business that's continuously growing. I'm still pondering several, but in the meantime, i have a list a mile long for tomorrow and this upcoming week. At some point I HAVE TO get out my Christmas decorations! Tree is going up on Tuesday. It's time to holiday up this house!

This prism necklace has been my go to lately. We have been selling the heck out of them and I know it's because it's truly the wear with anything necklace. This one is the large. I probably sell 5:1 small to large, but the large is my favorite. I wear it on days that I don't want to think about what I'm wearing. If you've seen me in the last few months, you've seen this star sweatshirt. I LOVE IT!!! I can't tell you how much. I wear it a lot, so if you haven't seen me…..you'll recognize this shirt the next time ya do!

I started the cyber monday sale early tonight. Get that 20% off until midnight tomorrow! I promise to add more to the website all day tomorrow. There's slim pickens there right now and what's a sale if there's nothing to buy! So, check back and I hope you find one with your name on it!
